Empowering girls and young women to flourish into their full-selves for nearly 100 years!
Camp Ton-A-Wandah has excelled as an outdoor education institution for a century, witnessing and embracing change throughout its journey. We recognize the importance of growth and adaptation while remaining true to our core values. Our dedication to fostering an open-minded, loving, and compassionate environment for all girls and their families is unwavering. We are committed to evolving in line with societal shifts while staying true to our mission of supporting single-sex outdoor education and recreation for girls and young women.

Despite the progress of the 21st century, girls and young women still encounter societal pressures that can hinder their development. However, for nearly 100 summers, Camp Ton-A-Wandah has empowered girls and young women to flourish into their full selves. We are determined to continue our legacy of excellence. Read More
A Typical Day at Camp
Every summer is full of excitement and new adventures for campers at Ton-A-Wandah. Each camper designs her very own activity schedule on the first day of camp. She can choose up to twelve activities varying from waterfront activities to the arts. She has a set of six classes for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and another selection for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. We encourage our ladies to sign up for things they love along with activites they have never tried before. We want to help them to create the camp experience that they have always dreamed of. Jenna's Story
Jenna came to Camp Ton A Wandah for third summer session when she was 12. Her parents never attended summer camp and frankly, were quite tentative to give up 3 weeks of summer vacation with her, but Jenna wanted to give it a try. After the first week, Jenna was hooked. She continued as a camper through high school and then became a Counselor in Training and full Camp Counselor during summer breaks while getting her Engineering Degree from Clemson University.
My summer sessions at Ton A Wandah were simply amazing. Don't get me wrong, I loved being at home, but at camp I was completely free to temporarily be away from the norms of who I was at school or church. I could try new things without fear of judgement or failure. That freedom helped build self-confidence, teamwork skills and communication skills that served be well through school and continue to shape me today. The life-long friends I made a camp are still only a phone call away.

The freedom to unplug, be challenged to try new things, and just be a girl among girls was an incredible experience for Jenna during her camp summers. We watched her flourish from a little girl to a young, confident woman, each year becoming more excited to get back to TAW. The life-skills of teamwork, leadership, compassion, and self-challenge have served her well through her middle school, high school and college years right up until now as a Mechanical Engineer, Project Manager and involved community member in Charlotte. We are eternally grateful for the TAW experience during her formative years!
