CABIN COUNSELOR/ACTIVITIES INSTRUCTOR
RISING COLLEGE SOPHOMORE
Counselors are the primary caregivers for each camper. The Counselor is responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills. Counselors will be assigned to a cabin in one of three areas: Hillside (ages 5-8), Lakeside (ages 9-11) or Hilltop (ages 12-16). They will assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers in their cabin, within activities, and throughout the camp in order to meet the intended camper outcomes.They will teach one or more general or special skills with other members of the camp staff. Here are a few of the specialized activities taught here at Camp Ton-A-Wandah.
First year counselors are expected to work all three sessions in their entirety.

ACTIVITY LEADER/GENERAL COUNSELOR
MIN. 2 YRS FIELD EXPERTISE AND CERTIFICATIONS
An Activity Leader is responsible for the daily operation of one or more activities. They are a general counselor in the cabin but in charge of a specific activity. They will oversee the calendar planning, staff assignments, equipment and safety checks, program evaluation, inventory, etc. Staff in this role must have expertise, experience and appropriate certification in their activity area(s).
JUNIOR COUNSELOR
Junior Counselors are one of the primary caregivers for each camper. The JC is responsible for assisting and leading in the planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 17 years of age or completed their junior year of high school.
• Graduated from the CIT program or has participated in an outside leadership program or has shown exceptional leadership in the community, school or in other extracurricular activities, may be qualified for a Counselor Assistant position for at least one session.
