It's a parade of hugs, smiles and cheers as you pull into the gates of Camp Ton-A-Wandah.  There's nothing like the excitement of opening day!  We can't wait to welcome your camper to her summer home away from home and make your family a part of ours.

Opening Day procedures are subject to change as we monitor COVID.  Be on the lookout for more information as we approach Summer 2021!

Opening Day

We roll out the read carpet at 8:00am (for our 2 and 3 week sessions) and 11:00am (for our starter session) on opening day.  Families are directed to their camper's cabin, where the meeting, greeting, bed-making and friend-making get underway!

Arrival time on Opening Days are 8:00am to 1:00pm.  Opening days are as follows:
  • 1st Session:  Sunday, June 6
  • 2nd Session:  Sunday, June 27
  • 3rd Session:  Sunday, July 18

Arrival time on Opening Day is 11:00am to 1:00pm.  Opening day is as follows:
  • Starter:  Sunday, August 8

What to Expect on Opening Day:

Opening day is pretty hectic but you can do it!  It is SO much fun to line up at the gate with all the other incoming campers.  Parents and guardians - we recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes for this busy morning!
  • You will meet our Program Directors at our camp gate, ready to welcome you to a funfilled summer session!   They will let your camper know what cabin she is in and route you to your cabin.
  • You will meet your counselors, unload your car and move it to the designated parking area.  We have AMAZING trunk boys to do the heavy lifting for you!  If you had your trunks shipped to camp, they will be waiting in your cabin as well as any Opening Day Packages you may have ordered through Camper Cargo.
  • Before unpacking, you will visit our health check-in site:
    • Health Form Check
    • Health Assessment Completed
    • Temperature Check
    • Medication Check In
    • Lice Check
  • You will return to your cabin to unpack and make your camper's bed.
  • You can tour camp, complete any business you need with our Admin Director at the office, visit Camper Cargo (our Camp Store) and hang out until we have lunch.
  • Join us for Captain Billy's burgers and music.  Lunch will begin at 11:00am.
  • We ask that all parents depart by 1:00pm.  Please make your farewells short and sweet.  Drawing out the good-byes, we've learned, makes parting all the harder for you and your camper.

Please accept that our camp is not conducive to mass parking.  We apologize for any inconvenience and ask for your patience and understanding.
