Hello! My name is Kathryn Christian and I'm from beautiful Virginia Beach, Virginia! I have been teaching for many years, currently teaching Gifted and Talented Students. I was once a camper at TAW, and I cant wait to come back again this summer!

SALLY BIRDSALL - HEAD STAFF

Sally Birdsall here, mother of Bea (TAW camper and proud member of the Navajo Tribe). We live in Jackson, MS. This is our third summer at Camp Ton-A-Wandah; we look forward to our three weeks here all year long! While on staff at TAW, you'll see me pulling weeds, pruning limbs, hauling off dead trees, arranging flowers, and beautifying our already gorgeous camp grounds. See you at the start of third session!

LAURA EDWARDS HEAD STAFF

Hi TAW ! My name is Laura Edwards and I'm a Head Staff Mom! I was born and raised in Columbus Georgia and I live in Spartanburg, SC. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 1992 and my Daddy coined the name for our beloved mascot "Uga"!! Things I adore, My Family (Mary Hall) & Animals (Yellow Labrador, Grits and Tabby Cat, Grace), Cooking, Gardening, Skiing, Skeet Shooting, Traveling, My Career, and of course Ton-A-Wandah! My very excited TAW camper is soon to be 8 year old Miss Mary Hall Edwards! She will be attending her 4th year at TAW-First Session! Ya hoo and can't wait to see y'all!!!

ASHLEY LINDLER - HEAD STAFF

Hey there!! I'm Ashley Lindler from Columbia, SC. I joined TAW head staff in 2016, fell in love with everything Ton-A-Wandah & swore I'd be back every summer until they kicked me out. I'll be the one chasing after your girls with a camera & making sure you catch sight of all the fun they're having here. We may even bring Vlog-A-Wandah out of retirement (google it for a few laughs)!! In the off season (AKA real life) you can find me dressing up moms & daughters in Matilda Jane, trudging through the woods with my dad, keeping my kids between the lines & telling my dog how much I love him.

TYRA ROBERSON - HEAD STAFF

Hi everyone! My name is Tyra Roberson. I have two daughters Lyla Roberson and Estelle Roberson. We are from Ormond Beach , Florida. They both will be at camp. I came to Camp Tonawandah as a camper for 10 years and this will be my 6th year as head staff. I can’t wait to meet everybody this summer.

APRIL LARUE - HEAD STAFF

Hello muffins! I'm April LaRue and this will be my second year as a head staff member at Camp Ton- A- Wandah. I LOVED every second of last summer and I am very excited about session 2 again. My daughters, Hannah and Madeline, are equally excited to head back to camp. I am a middle school life science teacher near Atlanta, GA. I can't wait to see some familiar faces and meet some new muffins too!

DEANA BIBB - HEAD STAFF

My name is Deana Bibb. 2019 will be my third year serving on staff. Mother Frankie, who works in the office, has been a dear friend of mine since 1994 and she’s truly the reason I have an appreciation for camp and a desire for my girls to experience Camp Tonawandah. My husband is a banker and I’m the owner of a small-batch pimento cheese company named Proper Pepper Pimento Cheese. We have 9 year-old twins girls, Kessler & McFerrin Bibb, who have fallen in love with TAW. We live in Sandersville, GA.

NILLA HESLEY - HEAD STAFF

Hi Everyone. I am Nilla Hesley, and I'm from Bluffton, South Carolina. I am a former camper and counselor, and this will be my 8th summer as Head Staff. I live on Hilltop and teach cooking. My daughters, Catie and Perry, cannot wait to be back this summer to see all of their TAW friends and enjoy all the wonderful activities and events that camp has to offer.

RITA HAMMOND - HEAD STAFF

Hello - I am Rita Hammond. I have been a head staff at TAW for about 17 years. Our family lives in Charleston SC. My two oldest girls came to TAW and were Cherokees. Ivey is my youngest and she is now a TAW (Cherokee) girl! I wear whatever hat they want me to at camp so I will see you around everywhere!

MELISSA HAMMOND - HEAD STAFF

My name is Melissa Hammond and I live in Spartanburg SC. This is my 11th summer at Camp Ton-A-Wandah as a head staff. I work for McDonald's Corporation - so yes, my boss is a clown. For 20 years I have been an Asset Manager in their real estate department negotiating leases for real estate to build a McDonald's. My daughter Scout went to TAW for 10 years and graduated as a CIT two years ago. Sullivan my youngest is in Laurel this year. We love our experiences at camp - meeting new friends and pushing ourselves to try new adventures. Can't wait to meet you!

I am Head Staff Jane Clarke, from Columbia SC. I am mom to Ann Douglas and Wylly Clarke. This is my third summer at Camp Ton-A-Wandah and can't wait to get back to Camp! I am looking forward to seeing returning campers and am excited to meet the new folks. 2019 is going to be an awesome summer at TAW!!!

NORA COAN - HEAD STAFF

Hello everyone! I am Nora Coan and I live in Brevard, North Carolina with my husband Jay and our two daughters Charlotte and Claire. I love trail running and hiking with our golden doddle Sunny! I was a camper and counselor at TAW and now I am back with as a camp mom with my daughter Charlotte. I am so happy and excited to be back at camp
