Wilderness First Responder

Wilderness First Responder the definitive medical training course for all outdoor leaders and enthusiast. This course is significantly different from traditional EMS courses oriented toward the urban environment. You will be prepared to deal with emergency situations that involve prolonged patient care, severe environments, and improvised equipment. This course meets or exceeds similarly named courses (i.e. DOT First Responder). This course is considered the most complete medical training for outdoor professionals of its kind.

This course will recertify the WMA WAFA, WFR, and the wilderness component for WEMT graduates.

Wilderness First Aid (WFA)

This course is designed to better prepare and orient participants with wilderness medicine. It has significant differences over standard first aid courses taught by The Red Cross and other program. You will be prepared to deal with emergency situations that involve prolonged patient care, severe environments, and improvised equipment. In this course will ultimately learn to deal with medical emergencies when help is miles away and 911 is not an option.

Lifeguarding with Waterfront

This course is designed to deal with Life threatening and day to day events in fresh water pools and lakefronts. It teaches participants to properly respond to emergencies that happen in and around water. The course includes CPR and Advanced First Aid. Candidates for this course must be able to swim 500 yard demonstrating freestyle, breaststroke, sidestroke and crawl. They must also retrieve a 10-pound weight from at least 7-foot of water, tread water using only their hands for 2 minutes.

National Archery Association
Certified Level 1 Coaches Courses

The Level 1 course is an 8-12 hour session covering the basics of range set-up and safety, proper shooting techniques, working with newcomers, proper equipment maintenance and how to manage a short-term archery program. The course is conducted by an advanced level course instructor, and is popular amongst summer camp staff, youth organizations, recreation departments and school systems as well as archery pro shop dealers. Anyone over the age of 16 can be certified as level 1, which is valid for 3 years.
