Ton-A-Wandah is a girls summer camp located in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Our name means “by the fall of water”.

Since 1933, girls ages 6-15 have come to discover Ton-A-Wandah is more than a place; it's a place in your heart.

Camp Merry Times - Hosted by the Friends of Santa Claus for children with cancer and their families.

Camp Ton-A-Wandah is pleased to host Camp Merry Times each year for the Friends of Santa Claus non-profit organization. Founded by Ted and Barbara Van Thullenar in 1993, Friends of Santa Claus provides emotional and financial support to children with cancer and their families.

The volunteer counselors are a unique group of people who want to make a difference in the lives of these courageous children ages 4-18, and their siblings. The camp is supported by physicians, oncology nurses and child life specialists who are on the premise round-the-clock to provide medical care.

Swimming and canoeing. Fishing and woodworking. S'mores, singing and campfires. These children at camp are able to do just what every other ordinary child does at summer camp — and that's the most extraordinary thing of all. Our campers have cancer. And when you're young, cancer often means not being able to do everything your friends are doing. cancer can make a child feel "different" and that can be the worst side effect of all.

Although nothing seems as unfair as a child and family stricken with cancer, it can also teach us the simple truth that every moment is something to cherish. Every penny that is raised by this organization goes for events that provide "smiles, joy and laughter" for these children.
