April Showers

The start of April brought strong spring rains to camp, and May flowers (especially the geraniums) will be making their debut soon. It’s beginning to look a lot like summer around here – now we just need our campers to arrive!

Camper Parties Wind Down

March is generally the last quiet month before the start of camp – soon groups will be back in camp, forms will be rolling in, and before you know it, the first staff will arrive.  We also are having one last round of camper parties this month, hoping to see as many new and returning campers as possible.  Callie was recently in Columbia, and soon we will head to Camden (3/24) and Atlanta (3/31).  If you are in the area and are interested in attending one of the last open houses of the season, give us a call in the office and let us know.  See you soon!

Summer Is On Its Way

While the calendar may say we are still firmly entrenched in winter, these past few glorious days at TAW have us looking forward to summer more than ever. The sun is shining and the mercury is rising, and we have camp on our minds! Parent packets will be going out shortly, so look for those in your mailboxes. The countdown to camp is underway…

Calling All Staff…

2011 is shaping up to be one of the best summers ever here at Ton-A-Wandah. Our list of returning and new campers grows longer each day, and we have several awesome 2010 staff members returning as well. To ensure that we have the best possible staff, Callie is hitting the road, traveling to several college recruiting fairs in the southeast. She plans to meet applicants and prospective counselors, choosing just the right staff members to teach activities and lead cabins. Callie was at Davidson College last week and will visit University of Georgia, University of Tennessee, Brevard College, UNCA, Warren Wilson, Appalachian State, and Converse College in the next two weeks. So, if you are on one of these campuses, stop by and say hello!

Happy New Year!

It’s hard to believe that 2011 is underway and that Opening Day is not that far off. On Christmas day camp got more than 6 inches of snow, so it was truly a white (and green) Christmas here! Everyone at Ton-A-Wandah hopes that you and your family had a wonderful holiday season. We look forward to seeing all of our TAW girls when the sun is shining and the flowers are blooming!
