One Big Party
Here’s a word of advice to all of you campers out there reading this: if anyone ever offers you a year-round job at a summer camp, TAKE IT! I’ve lately been wondering what job could be better! After all, I get to spend the off-season traveling around to all of the homes of TAW families, telling their friends and neighbors about all of the amazingly fun things we do every summer at Camp TAW. I just got home last night from a week of traveling where I saw campers Albertine Neal (and her sister, new camper Beatrice!) and Sophia Nunn in New York City, Georgia Smith in Atlanta, and Virginia and Margaret Moore, Kate Martin, Carlton Grubb, Janie Plowden, Frances and Maggie Ricks (AND….drum roll please…new campers Mary Preston and Virginia Warrington, Julia Long, Talley Bass, and Carson and Collins Chandler!! WOO HOO!!!) in Albany, GA. I may be a bit sleep deprived and a lot tired of driving, but I am SO RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED about the summer!
Of course, this is where the catch is. At every camp party, I get even more impatient for camp to start. It’s like when I was younger and overly excited for Christmas. Mom would tell me the sooner I go to sleep, the sooner it would be Christmas. So for all of you campers who are busy with school, sports, clubs, etc., time will fly and before you know it, it will be time for you to pack your Crocs and tribe colors in your trunk and line up outside of the front gate on Opening Day. But for me, that Opening Day will be a LONG time coming. Oh well…if this is the only downside to my job, I will quite happily take it!
I’d love to see some of you guys at camper parties that are coming up soon! Here’s my February travel schedule:
February 1st, Greenville, SC; February 5th, Danville, KY; February 8th, Charlotte, NC; February 11th, Winston Salem, NC; February 12th, Hillsborough, NC; February 15th, Richmond, VA; February 19th, Miami, FL; February 20th, Boca Raton, FL; February 21st, North Palm Beach, FL.
If I’ll be in your area around any of those dates and YOU would like to host a camper party, I’d love to set something up! Email me at email hidden; JavaScript is required. And campers, just know, I usually come bearing…chocolate. You’ll seeeeeeeeeeeeee……..
TAW love,
Margaret Farish
