Good GRIEF I can’t believe we’ve already finished the first day of camp this summer. And what a first day it was! Parents…you can believe me when I say your daughters have had a GREAT first day. After you guys dropped them off, they got to know their counselors and their cabinmates a bit more with some…games! After that, they signed up for activities, took their swimming test, ate dinner, played games, participated in a scavenger hunt, ate s’mores, and sang songs! WHEW. You MAY be able to tell that we like to fit as much in a day as we can! I was especially heartened to see the new campers jump right on in the melee with huge smiles on their faces. How do I know they had fun? I asked them! Ayla O’Day and Heather Walsh both said the most fun part of the day was eating s’mores (me too, me too). Margaret Manning liked it when the riding counselors brought Wandah the donkey into the gym! Caroline Bunch said she had fun signing up for the activities of her choice. Kelly Huffman, Linden Fisher (who isn’t new to camp, but is new to June session!), and Sophie Helmers all loved jumping in the lake to take their swim test, while Olivia Van Kuiken had fun being the winning cabin in the scavenger hunt! Now, the night air has set in and everyone is snuggled down in their cabins, and in about twelve minutes, I will be too!
