Actually, who are we kidding? The countdown for camp started a year ago when it ended! But now it’s getting down to the wire…only TWO. WEEKS. LEFT. You’re getting ready by packing your trunk and stocking up on the essential camp goodies. We here at camp are getting ready in our own way! For example, Ye Olde Blob was retired after last summer, so we’ve just gotten a brand spankin’ new one. Of course, SOMEONE had to test it out and make sure it worked (sort of like when you have to “test” a batch of chocolate chip cookies to make sure they aren’t poisoned…). So Callie Whitney and I, fully clad in our work clothes, stepped up to the task. Oh yes, the blob is ready to go (and heads up, the lake is surprisingly un-frigid…woo hoo!).

After that, we had to test out the kayaks and make sure they floated. Oh, they do. Then we had to make a s’more and eat it to see if they really ARE the best sticky-melty-chocolatey treat in the world. They are. Then I had to fill up a water balloon and hurl it at Marianne to test her, ahem, “fun” level. It’s high.

Obviously, I could keep going down our list of “preparations,” but I think you get the general idea. You’re ready; we’re ready. Let camp begin!
