Ton-A-Wandah is a girls summer camp located in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Our name means “by the fall of water”.
Since 1933, girls ages 6-15 have come to discover Ton-A-Wandah is more than a place; it's a place in your heart.

Camp is officially back in session, and we are so happy at Ton-A-Wandah! We’ve waited 43 long weeks for this (as I’m sure many of our campers have), and the girls are having a blast! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone in second and third sessions as well. See you at the front gate!

The calendar may say that spring began on March 20, but this past week has truly felt like the start of the season – or maybe even summer. Today the temperature at camp climbed to a tropical 85 degrees; we don’t usually see warm days like these until June. The daffodils are blooming, and the geraniums are not too far behind. So, we’re airing out the cabins, breaking out the shorts, dipping our toes in the lake, and slathering on the sunscreen. We are definitely ready for camp – are you?

It’s easy being green…when you’re a Ton-A-Wandah girl! A true TAW girl has plenty of green in her wardrobe, so there should be no danger of getting pinched today. Believe it or not, the time to dust off those Sunday green and whites is just around the corner. First session’s Opening Day is 80 days away. We’re ready…are you??

Camp Ton-A-Wandah has been honored with the Safety 1st Designation by the Markel Insurance Company. TAW was one of 64 camps honored nationally with this prestigious award. Markel states that “Camps and clubs must meet stringent criteria to qualify for the Safety 1st designation. They must have a have a proven safety record for at least three consecutive years, undergo formal assessments and inspections, and participate in continuing education and certification programs.”
As the safety of our campers and program is our top priority, we are honored to be recognized by Markel and strive to continue to provide the safe and fun program to which our TAW Family has become accustomed.
