One of the most important ingredients for a successful summer is super staff, and we are well on our way to an all-star group of counselors. In addition to many returning counselors and former TAW campers, we have hired a great group of new counselors to teach activities, lead cabins, and help everyone have fun. Look for the Staff Bios section that we will be adding to our website (in the TAWk section) very soon. You’ll be able to check out who is returning and have your first glimpse of the new staff. Can’t wait for the summer to start!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone in our camp family. We hope that your holiday has been safe and fun! We have loved getting Christmas cards from campers and staff – they are currently decorating the lodge, and everything looks festive and bright.

It’s beginning to look a lot (okay, maybe just a little) like Christmas! The unseasonably warm weather that we have been having at camp this fall came to an abrupt end this morning with our first snow of the season. Even though there was no accumulation, the icy flakes fell throughout day, lending a festive atmosphere to the day. As slight as the snowfall was, Merideth and Lauren couldn’t resist having a little bit of fun in the snow outside of the lodge.

You asked – we answered! Ton-A-Wandah will offer a six-day Starter Camp beginning in the summer of 2012. Registration is now open to first-time campers between the ages of 5-8. The session will take place from August 5 – August 10. While our regular camp program will be modified to suit the needs of our very youngest campers, it will still feature plenty of TAW flair and fun!

It’s that time of year again…the camp Subaru is loaded with our trusty trunk, camp displays, and lots of fun gifts ready for campers’ hometowns.  Our camper parties got under way in September with stops Columbia, SC and Wilmington, NC.  Since then, we’ve made our way down south and visited families in Camden, SC, St. Petersburg, FL, and Miami.  Soon we’ll be headed towards Jacksonville, Ormond Beach, West Palm Beach, Charlotte, Rocky Mount, Myrtle Beach, Knoxville, Tampa, and more!  Current campers who attend the parties will be the lucky few to see the session DVD before it is mailed out in December.  If you’re interested in attending a camp party – whether you are a veteran or prospective camper – let us know, and we’ll give you all the details.  Hope to see you soon!
